Actor & Writer

Originally from Edinburgh, Daniel McLeod moved to London to study acting at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

A talented young actor, writer and musician, since graduating from Mountview, Daniel has written two full-length plays, the first of which,
Greatest Love Songs, led him to meet Hilary Wood, former head of acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and current artistic director of exciting new theatre company, The Largest Room, which is housed at the Drayton Theatre. Hilary directed Daniel in Greatest Love Songs and it was this collaboration which lead to Hilary inviting Daniel to join The Largest Room and which also lead to Hilary commissioning his second play, About A Girl.

Daniel never intended to become a writer; it was something he "fell into". But it is something he is as passionate about as he is passionate about acting. And it is a wonderful way of staying "artistically sane" when not working as an actor. To date, in addition to his two full length plays, he has also had a one act play,
L.D.50, produced by First Draft Theatre (a company which produces a play in a month from scratch) and a short radio play, The Choices We Make, which played on ECFM to 2.5million listeners.
